Long Beach Seafood @ IMM

Earlier tonite, our Care Group from church met up to celebrate sis' belated birthday. Wondering where to eat, we (4 of us only, others have to work overtime, reservist, etc) finally decided to eat at Long Beach because our CG leader wanted chilli crabs.

When we sat down on the tables, we thought these wet napkins look kinda sleezy. LOL...

Anyway, we ordered and the food came in the sequence which these photos are displayed.
The garlic kailan dish, which we think is the nicest dish of all. :-p

The beef with dried chilli. Not too bad, maybe we should have called the bigger portion. Not enough.

Patin fish Penang Style.
Oh, this is delicious. I love fish especially in this nyonya style, which makes you wanna call for more bowls of rice.

Aha. The chilli crabs.
Hmm.. We now realise why the wet napkins says they are the best in Black Pepper crabs. We should have ordered that.

This chilli crab is for the 'cannot eat chilli' people. It's mild and tomato-ish. I think kids (who can't take chilli) would love them. But it does look really pretty on the plate. Very nicely stacked up.

The fried buns. Oh well, it could still go with the tomato-egg sauce.
We were still yearning for something fiery and spicy.

Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room @ IMM

We stopped going to this place for a long time because they used to tell you when you place your order after lining up that, sorry this has run out, we are not preparing this today. You get annoyed because you need to ask those at the table what they want to eat again.

But a visit last week changed into a pleasant surprise. Everything we ordered was available! Looks like a good start. Food's not too bad this time too. Looks like they have changed for the better.

This is the chicken, mushroom and sausage rice. Uncle had it and was not too bad.

My cousin had the salted and mince meat rice.

Aunt had the fried rice. Looks good too ya.

I had the baked curry rice with chicken. I think it was quite nice. But you gotta wait a while when you order this because they need to bake it for some time. The chicken although 'chao tar' outside was still moist inside.

The shared items we had was the fried wantons.

We like this. Orange Deep Fried Pork Ribs.

Ajisen @ IMM

This was dinner last Saturday with sis and momo. Sis needed to get some stuff from IMM. I also had to return library books at the nearby Jurong East library.

After settling all the errands, sis and momo decided that we shall have Ajisen. We noticed that the menu has finally changed. Prices are also different now.

At least there's something new to try and no more almost disintegrated menus.

We all had the Ajisen Sets, ie you order a main, a side dish and a drink. It's $14.90 each set for these that we ordered. These are the side dishes we had. Chicken wings. I always get this, it taste yummy somehow.

The white fish fingers. This was recommended by the person taking our orders. She said most people order it.

The meat skewers. This reminded us of the Australian 'pasar malam' food in Darwin! LOL... The ones in Darwin seem to taste better. ;-P

For the mains, this is the Kumamoto Ramen. Momo had this.

The Kotsu Ramen that sis had.

I had something totally new on the menu. The Spicy Octopus Dry Ramen.
Look at all the octopus suckers. It's a nice change to the usual soupy stuff I have in Ajisen.

For the soup dishes, sis and momo both noted that they are light handed on salt now. Why, oh why? The reason that we chose Ajisen was because we wanted some saltier food. LOL...

(But no one beats the saltiness at Santouka. Suddenly have craving for Santouka now. :-p)

Desserting @ Ajisen, IMM

Oh, the temporary insanity we had about snacking after lunch did not stop with what you saw yesterday. The menu tempted us with the following:

Macha Sundae $4. With corn flakes below too.

The Zenzai (Red Bean Dessert). $6.20
Ice cream, dango and red bean paste.

Oh, this pickle goes with the above. Savoury & the sweet stuff above. Quite good!

The Macha Sundae Anmitsu $6.80
Red bean paste + little cubes of jelly + a cup of black honey to go with it.

The was eaten on Sunday, and on the next day, I hopefully have burnt off the calories in the Body Combat class. Any one here also attends Body Combat classes? As I am typing this, I am still have aches all over from Monday's class.

Sigh, want to eat, so have to exercise. Is it a waste of time and energy? LOL...

Snacking @ Ajisen, IMM

After the pasta (that we had yesterday), we were feeling a bit gluttony and decide to snack a bit. Aunt and I thought we would like to have KFC! (blame it on that silly KFC ad on tv with the $5.95 cab fare that has to be paid with the KFC meal.)

Walking around, we realised that there's no more KFC at IMM! There used to be a 3-in-1 KFC/Pizza Hut/Taco Bell right? It's no longer there!

So, we thought of the fried chicken wings at Ajisen!

We snacked on Tako Yaki $4.50

Ah, the chicken wings $3.80

Black Pepper Ton Toro $4.80

Sis wanted okonomiyaki, but they ran out of it, so she ordered something that looked similar. haha. A Tonpei Yaki. $3.80

Our cousin had her dose of Salmon Sashimi. We had desserts too. ;-)

We were happy after snacking and went home to sleep for the afternoon!
Oh yes, pay with a Citibank card and get 10% off.

Today for lunch, one colleague said go Jap, dun want same old Jap, so eventually it was decided, we shall try Ichiban Sushi. So we zoomed off to IMM.

No point showing the individual sushi plates from the conveyer since it is always almost the same. Here are our mains...

One colleague ordered he Salmon Chilli Don. $10.90

Mine's Hayashi Bento Set. I ordered it just because of the word Hayashi. haha.. some of you might know why... $15.90

This is the beef in Hayashi Sauce. I must go find out more about Hayashi Sauce. Hmmm..

Another colleague had Gyu Teridon. $10.90. When this was served, the smell was heavenly... Beef always smells good ya :-)

Another colleague had this sumptuous set! Sit too far away, so hard to take photo. Its the Amazu Shiromi Sakana. $14.90

That's the fish from this set.

The guy's food above all came first, when we were almost finishing, the poor ladies were still waiting for their food!

Finally, one colleague's Ebi Fry Don came out. $11.90

When those who started to eat first had finished their food, only did this colleague's Nabeyaki Udon arrived. $11.90

Overall, ok lah.

Ajisen @ IMM

I was having lunch with mum today. We decided to have Ajisen. I already knew what I wanted. There was this tomato chicken thingy that I tried the last time. Realise that they dont sell it at this branch in IMM.

Anyway, Mum took the Volcano. The fiery spicy one. Plus the savoury stuff as side dish.

While I had Paiku mian and Tako Balls as side dish. I love the paiku. Yummmmmy and salty.

It was a good time chatting with mum.
