Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland Village

Today just before lunch, a colleague happily hop into our office and said, today's lunch is on me. Let's go to Holland Village.

Wah... what happened? He told us, he passed his most difficult exam ever. He passed the ITIL exams. He said he was already planning to retake because the passing rate is very low and he did not think he could make it. Since he passed the exam, the $ he allocated for the super expensive exam fee, a portion of it can be used to treat us. Of course we gladly accepted his invite.

It was a super cold and rainy day, so wondering where to eat, we decided we would like hot chinese food. We ended up at Crystal Jade Kitchen. We all ordered porridge. 5 different kinds of them. It was a cold day and the warm porridge was what was needed to warm us up!

This is my duck and chicken porridge. (The meat's all hidden below the porridge haha...)

This is the century egg and lean pork porridge.
(Ya, all the porridge looks similar right? The gems are all hidden inside)

This is the something river porridge. It has peanuts over it.

The pig inards porridge. This photo colleague stirred it so you can see the liver.

The other bowl of porridge was too far away, so you visit them and try it out lah.
I even forgot what porridge it was. :-p

We had the 3 eggs with veg dish to share too. We love this dish.

Plus 5-6 kinds of dim sum as well. The siew mai, har gow, bean curd skin fish cake, chee cheong fun, steamed pork ribs, etc...

You could guess it, we ordered 3 steamers of chicken feet. yeah...

Thanks for the lunch, Wire.

Now that our colleague is ITIL certified, the rest of us have to be inducted into ITIL practices too. The next week, we will all be attending ITIL brain washing courses.

Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland Village

Momo, sis and I decided to have dinner at Holland Village last night. Wondering what to eat, we walked around and after looking around decided that Chinese Food is still our favourite!

Surprisingly, Crystal Jade is not very pack on a Friday night, and we could easily get a seat, after waiting for like 10 seconds.

What did we order? Same old thing! Somehow we like to eat what we always eat. So what did we eat? We shared a bowl of 'xi yang cai tang' / Water Crest Pork Rib Soup.

We also had garlic pork ribs. This dish takes time to prepare according to the lady taking our orders, so she quickly went to the kitchen to place the order first, before coming back to us to order other things. Such considerate people. :-) It seems a bit pale today, but it still taste ok.

We had Claypot tofu as well.

Also, what we usually order when we are here. The 3 eggs with veg dish.

How many of you like Chinese food the best? Do you also always tend to order the same thing when you eat at the same place? :-)

Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Holland Village

Today we had to go to 3 places before we can have lunch! We went to Venue A in Ghim Moh, arrgh... it's closed. Then we went to another place, Venue B, at the other side of Ghim Moh .... and on the main entrance, it says Closed on Mondays. Arrghh..

Then we went to Holland Village nearby. Oh, it was so easy to get a cab nowdays. ;-)
The first 4 who got there says they got a place at Crystal Jade. The other 4 of us in the other cab met them there.

One more senior colleague said, lunch on me, ok? All of us replied in unison, SURE!! He asked what to eat, and he decided on the Set Meal for 8. One had Sharksfin, the other Fish Maw, the choice was clear. We had a very anti-shark colleague. (He might just join green peace one day!)

The Fish Maw soup was served. It was served in 8 individual bowls.

It was nice, a scoop of it with crab meat.

It also came with the combo with 3 kind of meat.

Prawns and Broccoli.
(We were talking about how they make the prawns so crunchy, any of you have secrets that can let us know?)

The 3 different kind of eggs with Veg dish. One of our favourites.

Pork Chops. Yummy! There's lots of onions all below. :-)

The salted fish fried rice.

The lady asked if we wanted deep fried for the Soon Hock. OK, since it was recommended. It came as two fishes. If we knew earlier, maybe we could have asked for half half eh? One Steam and One Crispy Deep Fried. Wonder if they would agree. LOL...

Red Bean Soup with Fried Orange Peel for dessert.

Thanks HW for lunch today.
