Da Cheng Hainan Chicken Rice @ Amoy Street Food Centre.

A few of us friend order chicken rice from this stall although you know for sure it will take a long time for the food to come. haha..

It's just that this old couple managing the stall, just happen to be slow. Their 'shou jiao man'. (translated as 'Hand Leg Slow' LOL) But somehow, we still get chicken rice from him because we want to 'support support' this old couple who is still in business.

One thing unique about this chicken rice is that it comes with peanuts! The chicken rice is nice too.

But when we are in a rush, we will avoid them, and go for the other chicken stall opposite them. That stall has super fast service by a younger couple and their chicken rice is quite nice too.

Hainese Style Boneless Chicken Rice @ Dover Food Market

You notice it is Hainese and not Hainanese? Colleagues and I have been here so many times over the years, but we never noticed it until yesterday!

We were actually going to 'save' another chicken rice stall at the Dover Food market, we saw that they were on the verge of closing, and was having chicken rice at $1.50 till the end of the month. When we arrived, I guess we were too late! The whole stall is empty, nothing was left there, except a bunch of flowers. Hmmm... some fans left a bouquet there? LOL...

Anyway, since we set our minds on having chicken rice, we headed to the 'super competitive' 2 chicken rice stall that are beside each other (separated by a drinks stall in the middle only). We know both are equally nice, but there was an empty table in front of this stall, so we ate at this one lah...

This must be faster than fast food! The moment you sit down, the guy asks for your order, and within half a minute, the rice and chicken is on the table!

This 'white chicken' arrives within 1 minute. Love the 'archar' that comes with it.

We also had the 'roast chicken'.

The 'you chai'.

Maybe the bean sprouts takes longer time to get rid of the head and root, it arrived much much later.

Anyway, it also comes with very big plates of rice. You get stuffed by the rice. We were 4 satisfied people. haha...

If you have been here, which of the two competitive stalls is your favourite?

Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice @ Food Republic, Wisma Atria

This was part of my lunch today. We were at Food Republic at Wisma Atria and we happened to find a table for 5, just in front of this stall. I have never tried their chicken rice and decided to give it a try.

The name of the stall is Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice. This is the set meal that I ordered. It also comes with a bowl of rice and soup that are not shown here. $6.

Quite decent. It seems all the stalls in Food Republic is some famous stall in Singapore. So I did a online search. Aha.. The founder of Sergeant is one of the original chefs that made the Mandarin Hotel Chicken Rice famous in Singapore.

Just wondering... Any chicken rice fans around? Where is your favourite chicken rice stall?

Boon Tong Kee @ Cheong Chin Nam Road (Bukit Timah)

Today's lunch after church was nearby church. We had chicken rice. We usually have it at 5 Star, but today we thought we will give it a chance.

So we went to Boon Tong Kee instead.

The appetizer which is quite appetizing. We were hungry, anything would be.

Since we had 4 of us, we ordered a Jug of Herbal Tea ($6)

While waiting for our food to arrive, I snap a picture of the chickens hanging.

The first dish that arrive was Tau Geh with Salted Fish. ($7)

Then our rice came, hey, fanciful pyramid shaped rice!

Then it was half a white chicken. ($13)

We also had a Pork ribs, it's quite tasty, but on a sweetish side. ($14.80)

Hope you have had a very blessed weekend!

Chicken Rice - my most eaten lunch.

This is what I ate yesterday, decided to snap it for the fun of it.
Chicken Rice from the chicken rice stall at the canteen where I work.
It might just be the most eaten dish that has gone into me. LOL.

Of course not always chicken wings, sometimes its roast pork, roast chicken, soy chicken (like this one), or 'white' chicken. I always have 'add vegetables' with my chicken rice. $2.40

What's your most eaten dish for lunch?
