Steamboat @ Aunt's Dining Room

It's always fun to have the whole family sitting on the big dining table enjoying food. Having steamboat is something that's quite fun. Moreover you can get children to cook for you too! hehe... They are always so eager to want to put stuff inside the pot.

Here's what we had last Sunday. All you need is an aunt and her sis to prepare the ingredients for us. (hehe...) A nice wide mouth, not too shallow pot, an induction cooker. (induction cooker's the best! the waiting time is the shortest because they heat up so quickly!)

Prawns and sotong...

Toufu...

Enoki mushroom. 2 or 3 packs, they kinda just melt away!

Chicken meat... (marinated ones taste better)

Thinly sliced pork, just get them from the supermarket....

With kids around, some sausages and quail's eggs...

Some fish slices... (marinated with ginger etc...)

Thinly sliced Beef... (yes from the supermarket)

Pig's liver...

Plus tomato, bak choi, some beef balls, thick stem mushrooms....
Oh, they sell fish paste now as well, just like the ones you eat outside. They are quite good. This is the first round thingy, all the ingredients that can 'last very long' in the soup. hehe..

Not forgetting the dips. We had like 3 or 4 kinds...
This is the cincalok dips. You can also get the sesame paste dips etc at the Jap section of supermarkets. They are yummy!

The play with your food...

Yes, play with your food. LOL...

Before all the rise in prices etc, we used to eat at places like Coca etc, but nowadays it cost SGD82 for 2 at Coca for example, dining at home seems better ya, especially when you have over 10 people. Don't want to wash up? You saw above, use disposable bowls! LOL...
